Performer: Andrew Varley

A fabulous show - with a twist, including many pieces of music that we have not heard for a while!

Andrew opened tonight’s show with his signature tune, “Triumphant March”, followed by a musical trip around the world medley including “A Foggy Day In London Town”, “Tulips From Amsterdam”, “I Love Paris”, “The Girl from Corsica”, “Summertime in Italy”, “Vienna Is A City Where People Sing”, “Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen”, “Yokohama Mishu” and “New York, New York”.

4 delightful tracks from his latest CD, “As Time Goes By”, “Crazy”, “Wonderful Land, “Meeting in Venice” and “Wave”.

Next - a Dean Martin Medley “Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime”, “See The Pyramids Across The Nile”, “Amore”, “Memories Are Made Of This” and “Volare”.

Andrew commenced the second half of his show with a Latin medley, followed by “Per Chance to Dream” and “House of Dreams”, both composed by John Taylor.

Here’s the twist! We were invited to join in a TV Themes Musical Quiz - and the answers were:

 “Bonanza” “Vision On” “Star Trek”

“It’s A Knockout” “Last Of The Summer Wine” “Open All Hours”

“It Aint Half Hot Mum” “Emmerdale” “Alias Smith and Jones”

“Howard’s Way” “Hawaii 5 0”.

A tribute to Henry Mancini - “Whistling Away The Dark”, followed by “Conquest Of Paradise” from the movie “Christopher Columbus“.

A selection of Julie Stein’s arrangements of “Just In Time”, “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend”, “Time After Time” and “Everything’s Coming Up Roses”.

 Encore - “May Way”.

Andrew travelled a fair distance to be with us and we hope to welcome him back again in the not too distant future. Thank you, Andrew, for a wonderful night of musical magic and memories.
