Report by: Brian Waters

Performer : Andrew Nix
Instruments :
Roland AT80
.

Popular Organist and Entertainer Andrew Nix visited the club for our June concert and provided our members with a evening of ‘music and wit’.

Performing on Roland AT 80SL and starting with a lively March   ‘A Bridge too far’ and then on to a lovely Piece that has become Warner’s Holidays theme    ‘Angel in Blue’,

A selection of music from the West End hit  Les Miserable featuring the Orchestral sounds and then  on  ‘ Fly me to the Moon’ followed by Music Box Dancer.

Then sounds of the Wurlitzer from Blackpool with a ‘Happy selection
Including Mr Sandman, Hey Look me over and Happy Days amongst others.

Andrew had his usual Cd’s available and there was quite a lot interest at the interval  -  the Raffle was held as usual.  .

A George Gershwin selection was included in the second half then the popular song ‘Misty’- Piano and Orchestra and then   a Shadows selection and the Bill Owen piece ‘So Lucky’.

I have not listed all the music that Andrew played here but a good concert overall using many of the great sounds available on the Roland!

Andrew has a pleasant personality and came across well to the audience and of course there were a few jokes thrown in to make it an entertaining evening for us all..

We have for our July meeting a first visit from Sue Hancock playing Technics GA3 and I hope to see as many of you there as possible
