Report By: Brian Waters
Show Date: Thursday, 10th July 2008
Performer: Paul Carman ; Orla Compact GT 8000

Paul Carman visited our club on the 10 th July, playing Orla Compact GT 8000 organ and he always does, provided a very good evenings entertainment for our members.

During the first half Paul played a wide selection of popular music including: Tie a Yellow Ribbon, Wave, and Portrait of My love, followed by a nice medley of songs including: Misty, Blue Moon and Birth of the Blues.

The Orla organ has some lovely mellow flute and drawbar sounds and Paul made good use of these throughout the evening, he came across to the audience very well, and with a few jokes thrown in went down well.

During the Second Half a selection of Latin music , then the Barbara Streisand hit; The Way We Were followed by Sousa’ March ‘The Washington Post’ then a selection of Dixieland music.

Paul played a 35minute Medley non -Stop with some great songs including Around the World, Nightingale Sang, and Red Roses for a Blue Lady, Stranger on the Shore, ‘You’re Cheating Heart.’

The show ended with the 333 Squadron, but the audience wanted another and he finished with the song ‘You Raise Me Up’.

Everyone seemed to go away happy and I feel sure Paul will be invited back again in the future.
