Another great concert was held at our club again last week with the visit of one of the countries Top organist’s and entertainers Brett Wales.

Brett is very much in demand at the moment and it is easy to see why , he gave our members a concert to remember right from the start with a polished and brilliant performance.

Performing on the Wersi Spectra Organ the one that he has played now for some seven years Brett performed many of his own arrangements together with some amazing sounds which were outstanding .

The selection of music chosen to fill two hours must have delighted everyone and our concert hall was filled with some incredible in depth sounds with the reverb second to none!

I am unable to list this month a full list of the songs Brett played for us during the evening but I am able to highlight some, we heard some great Country music ‘Blanket in the Ground’ - Love letters in the Sand . ‘Closest thing to Crazy’ ‘I wanna’ Hold your Hand ’ jazz organ style

We heard some of the songs that have given Brett a ‘Trademark’ like ‘Lonely Ballerina’ the Diana Ross hit ‘When you tell me that you Love me ‘.! Let it Be …… . etc etc

On the Classical side a Great arrangement of Mozarts Marriage of Figar’o featuring the Orchestral strings - also ‘The Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticano’ - there was also some Latin including -Tico Tico and Perfidia .

The concert ended as usual with one of Bretts specials ‘One Moment in Time’ then of course everyone wanted to hear more and he duly obliged .

This was a well attended concert on a very warm evening - but everyone went home happy that they had seen and heard a great performer give a concert to remember, we look forward to seeing Brett again when he visits us again next year.

We are now at the summer break with no concert in August, our next concert is on the 13 th September when we have the ever popular Nicholas Martin’s visit . Do enjoy the summer break.
