Report by: June Clark

Performer : Tim Flint
Instruments : Roland AT80SL

I have a confession to make! There were some pieces of Music Tim played and, unfortunately, I do not know some of the titles. My sincere apologies for this but I have listed as many as I can!

Opening this evening’s show, Tim from Belper in Derbyshire played “Thunder and Lightening Polka”, followed by “A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening”, and “The Nearness Of you”.

Great cinema organ sounds including “A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square”, “The Trolley Song” and “Tiger Rag”. Classical “Intermezzo - Casti lana”, followed by Harold Smart’s composition of “Organ Hoedown”.

George Shearing’s “Yesterday’s Dreams”, followed by traditional organ sounds medley and the lovely samba rhythms of “Tico Tico” bringing us to the interval.

Robbie Williams swing style “Have You Met Miss Jones” and “Wonderland By Night”.

Next Tm played “Such Love Can Only Happen Once”. Latin sounds of “A Little Rumba” complete with scat voices and “A Little Serenade” (Cha Cha).

A March followed by a Jazz Swing number. “Any Dream Will Do” from Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat” - delightful jazzy version.

From the TV programme “We’ll Meet Again” - “The Song That I Sing”. From “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory” “Pure Imagination”.

The title music from “Out Of Africa”, followed by “Amything Goes” and Kenny Ball’s “Muscat Ramble“.

For Tim’s encore, he played “For Once In My Life” with the fantastic organ and scat voices on the Roland.

What a night! Tim’s reputation as an organist and entertainer is second to none - as were his show outfits! If only I could remember some of his jokes! His combination of music and laughter made a perfect, thoroughly appreciated January evening for us all.
