The Yamaha Tyros

Concerts

Report by: Brian Waters

Performer: Nicholas Martin
Instrument: Technics G100c Organ

Our Christmas Concert this year December 11th.was performed by one of the country's top organists - NICHOLAS MARTIN.
Nicholas is currently the Resident Organist and Entertainer at the popular Turners Merry- go -Round in Northampton, and he has been there now more than twenty years performing on the Wurlitzer Organ. Performing for us on the Technics G100 Nicholas started with a selection of marches and
music to suit everyone and finished the first half with a lovely version of the 'Dream of Olwyn.' featuring piano and strings. As is usual for the December concert the committee provided sausage rolls and mince pies during the interval and these were enjoyed by all,and the tables were decorated with attractive Christmas Candles to make the occasion seasonal.

During the interval we held the members' draw for a bottle of Champagne , followed by the raffle which provided a varied selection of wines and seasonal items, Nicholas of course was promoting his DvDs and Compact discs and there was a lot of interest there.!

The second half provided some more lovely sounds on the Technics, with a good varied selection of music to suit everyone including a selection of music by Eric Coates and 'Abba ' and then of course all the favourite
Christmas songs and Carols. Judging by comments at the end of the evening a great evenings entertainment was had by all.
