Report by: Brian Waters

Performer: Tim Butterworth
Instruments :
- Tyros 2

For Our Christmas Concert this year TIM BUTTERWORTH visited our Club,- this was his first visit and he provided us with a good mix of music on Tyros 2.

Starting with his Signature tune’ If my Friends could see me now ,Tim went on to play a selection; ‘Aces High, My Heart and I’, Cheek to Cheek, 42nd Street and others.

The Theatre organ sounds from Tyros were coming across well and another  selection  followed including: I could have Danced all night, They Say that Falling in Love  is Wonderful, Moon River and several other hit songs.

Tim concentrated on playing and there was not a lot of chat during the concert but he came across well and was very confident.

A nice version of The Holy City was followed by a Big Band  Medley and then a Samba,  then some Christmas music;  ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ – Frosty The Snowman and others

As most members will know by now  ‘The Two Brian’s’ have stood down as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively, after Twelve Years of running the Club,

Our new Chairman June Clark together with the rest of the committee surprised us both at the interval with a presentation of Crystal Clocks and flowers; it seems money was collected by Members and Non Members.  Brian McMillan and I would like to thank everyone for there generosity and also the support they given us over the years, it is very much appreciated by us both..

After the usual Raffle, we held the Members Christmas Draw for a Bottle of Champagne

Tim held an interesting Quiz. during the Second Half,  and  of course music continued with many more well known songs and a lovely ‘Christmas Medley Including I saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus-  White Christmas

Silent Night etc… then a good version of  New York New York and an e’ncore  ‘Sweet Georgia Brown!

An entertaining evening,! Everyone seemed to enjoy this concert and there was a good attendance,  I am sure Tim will be invited back again in future.
