The Club was founded in 1989 by Ron Lomax, a Music Teacher from Spalding and Mrs. Angela Clifton from Peterborough. The Club is proud to announce that it will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2009.

On the 2nd Thursday in every month (except August), we proudly present a Live! Music Show, contracting top international and UK keyboard professionals of all ages. Our shows commence at 7.45 pm and finish at 10.15 pm at The Post Office Sports & Social Club, Corner of Maskew Avenue and Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough – a comfortable venue with ample free car parking spaces.

Mr. Herman Greenwood and Mr. Sid Phillips are standing down from the Committee with effect from the 31st March 2008 and we would all like to express our appreciation for all they have done for our Club over many, many years.

PUBLICITY AND PROMOTING THE CLUB

Work has and will continue to increase awareness in our surrounding Communities, inviting new members and guests to our shows. The Club has been fortunate enough in maintaining a solid core of members over the past 19 years but, to ensure our future continuity and ongoing success, we do need to advertise on a regular basis. Anything you can do to make other music lovers know will be greatly appreciated. Please tell your family and friends about us! Everyone is assured of a warm, friendly welcome!

CONFUSED ABOUT ORGANS?

So many people, when asked, will say that organs are only played in places of worship. There is absolutely nothing wrong with church music – but have we got news for you!

There is a fabulous range of “State Of The Art” Keyboards – yes, electronic organs, digital keyboards, pianos – and more – at our fingertips. We can perform music across the whole genre of styles and sounds with many added sound effects and features – for example, classical, modern orchestral ballads, big band swing, jazz, country & western, Latin, ballroom, pop party/disco, marches, film themes and many, many more - from around the world - from the past to the present day. We are promoting our Club with the emphasis on the word “Keyboards” – which thousands of enthusiasts play, either professionally, or in their own homes for their own enjoyment and pleasure.

The vast array of styles on all keyboard instruments opens up a whole new world of musical magic and performing opportunities. Imagine yourself being the conductor of a real orchestra - or the leader of a big band – you can choose which instruments you want to play at any given time in your own arrangements! With ballroom dancing so popular today, there has never been a better time to learn and perform live keyboard music for friends at a party! Better still, record some of your music into your instrument, floppy disc or memory stick and join in the dancing, too! A great way to keep fit and healthy!

Music Schools and teachers across the UK maintain that young children learning to play music helps to improve their self-esteem, social and communication skills. This is why our Club is so keen to promote, support, motivate and encourage younger members and visitors within Peterborough and surrounding communities.

IN TUNE WITH PETERBOROUGH ORGAN CENTRE!

We are very fortunate to have Peterborough Organ Centre, based in the Rivergate Shopping centre working in harmony with our Club. If you are thinking about learning keyboard skills, perhaps you wish to buy your first keyboard or are looking to part-exchange your instrument for a newer model, please visit the Centre - it is one of the best in the Country, offering special deals and excellent after-sales support - with delivery anywhere in the UK. Do call in and have a chat with Simon or David.

HOME PLAYER’S GROUP

We have a group of members meeting monthly who listen to each other and help with techniques and new styles on various home owned instruments. If you would like more information, please contact June.
